Lexie Has Her Earphones In

Updated: Feb 17

Music is an essential part of Lexie's everyday life. She can't go a day without listening to her favorite albums and songs. It makes her disconnect with the world around her and escape to her fantasy land. I recently got an Apple AirPods Max in Starlight and switched to Apple Music, so that makes me even more keen on my music obsession. Their noise-canceling technique is >>>. So if you're unsure about whether to get them, bees, let me influence you and tell you that they're so worth the price. I don't really know how to feel about Apple Music tho, it's aesthetically pleasing and visually appealing obviously, but the smart shuffle on it is the worst. I be listening to "I Love You, I'm Sorry" by Gracie Abrams, and all of a sudden it starts playing "Fergalicious" by Fergie. Does it do the same for you bees too? Let me know because I'm confused. But anyhow, back to our little music session...

In this article, you'll learn about Lexie's favorite artists and what she has been listening to in the past few months. Please do not set your expectations high here because your girl has a basic taste in music and I don't regret it one bit.

Lexie is a huge Harry Styles fan. Since when? Since she was a One Direction girl back in her teens. I have been through his debut era, Fine Line, and Harry's House era. I love all of his songs, obviously, and I'm not saying this because I'm his fan. Every one of his songs is a musical masterpiece that includes different notes, harmonies, and vocals. I'm not calling myself a music expert; I'm just stating what I hear while listening. My favorite era of his Harry's House. I've been to three of his shows during this era and those were some of the best experiences of my life.

If you ask me what's my favorite song, I won't be able to answer you, bees. I seriously love every single one of his songs. To make the question a little bit easier on me, I will minimize the scope and tell you my top three out of Harry's House in no consecutive order.

Next comes the short n' sweet girl - Sabrina Carpenter. I love love love the image she created of herself and her general music style and genre. I honestly don't remember when I became her fan, but it was sometime between her "Emails I Can't Send" and "Short n' Sweet" era. I was already a fan before Short n' Sweet got released, so don't come at me saying I'm a newbie, ok? With that being said, here are some of my fav songs from both of these albums..

Sabrina announced "Short n' Sweet" Deluxe right after she won the Grammy for it and I can't wait to listen to it. It includes "Please Please Please" featuring Dolly Parton which... are you kidding me?? That is such a big deal. I was humming the song to myself this morning while getting ready for work and the news about the Deluxe version coming out made my day. The version will also include "Busy Woman" - a track that was released by Sabrina together with "Needless To Say", but neither of them was on music platforms officially. I loved "Needless To Say", but including "Busy Woman" on the Deluxe version is such a win...

Can we also talk about her Tiny Desk performance and the way she nailed it? I'm not even talking about the Juno position there. Truly iconic...

Have you ever tried this one?

I've been listening to Gracie Abrams nonstop since Spring of 2024, probably. Check out the screenshots from my Spotify Wrapped 2024.

But no, she wasn't my top artist...

I love "Good Riddance," "This Is What It Feels Like," and "Minor". But I'm gonna be honest, I didn't know who Gracie was when these got released. I discovered them later when I started listening to her music. I was a fan before "The Secret of Us" got released so it's safe to say I experienced the anticipation with the fandom altogether. Oh, but then there's the Deluxe version which makes me wanna scream the lyrics at the top of my lungs. I'm simply refusing to share her songs because all of them are so good and me being a libra, I can't choose which one to share. I could listen to her over and over again, especially the live versions on YouTube...

Free Now is underrated

Olivia O'Brien and Renee Rapp are the two artists I've discovered recently. Especially "love & limerence" by Olivia and "Everything to Everyone" by Renee are currently on my library to which I enjoy listening very much. Here are some of my favorite songs by Renee Rapp and the link to the whole EP by Olivia O'Brien.

How can we forget about the Eilish siblings? I used to not like Billie and would listen to Finneas only, but as times changed, it became reversed. Now I like them both equally, but I definitely listen to Billie more. Needless to say, I have both of their latest albums saved on my library.

Last but not least, Olivia Rodrigo comes next on the list. (ooh see what I did there?). I used to listen to "drivers license", "deja vu", "good 4 u", and "traitor" when she released SOUR. Those were the top songs everyone was listening to. However, when GUTS came out, boy was I playing it nonstop. It makes me feel like a teen again which I love.

(Teens these days get Olivia Rodrigo, meanwhile I got Hotel Room Service by Pitbull or "TikTok" by Kesha. Am I complaining? Obviously, not. Those were and still are smash hits till this day.)

My all-time favorite artist is Ariana Grande. I've been listening to her since her "Dangerous Woman" era. But my least favorite album is "Positions", sorry not sorry. She really does not need to do anything extra to be the center of attention. I think her vocals, and music style do it all. She looks gorgeous, but her "Positions" era was unmatchable. Her hair, style, and makeup looked superior. All in all, she's a true gem of the music industry and I hope she gets recognized more for her talents. I really really like her live performance sessions she does on YouTube. Here's one of them...

Ariana Grande - eternal sunshine

Ok bees, I think that's all the music that has been on my mind recently, but here's a link to my Spotify page if you're wondering about what else I'm listening to...

For my bees who are in their twenties but still feel like a teen, here's a playlist on Apple Music made by me..

P.S. You can also find this playlist on my Spotify page.

Mind you, I still haven't revealed my Spotify Wrapped top artist for 2024. But I think you can easily guess it based on the songs and artists I've shared with you. I will dedicate a whole another article for them, and I'm so excited for you to read it.

All in all, I think you got the idea of my music taste, right? Let me know what have you been listening to and who are some of your favorite artists. Toodles <3
